A program to assist in taking your cans out and returning them for our customers with limited mobility.

Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District is pleased to offer the Curbside Assistance service to residents in the District who cannot get their waste and recycle cans out to the curb on their assigned collection day. This service is limited to those individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • There is no one living at this address who can safely move the waste and recycle cans to the curb on collection day.
  • There is a medical, or physical condition that limits the ability to move the cans District drivers will arrive at your address, stop and retrieve the cans, dump them, and return them to where they were originally placed only if the following conditions are met and maintained:
  • Cans must be stored in a place where the assigned drivers can get to them easily (not behind any gates and/or doors). Cans will not be serviced if they are not visible and accessible.
  • A clear pathway from where the cans are stored to the street will be maintained so drivers are not at risk of falling or encountering obstacles while trying to service the cans on collection day. This includes but is not limited to snow removal, obstructed driveways with parked cars, and other debris impeding access.
  • A supervisor will contact you within a week or two to schedule a visit to review the requirements for this program.
