Seasonal Container Reservation Program Information Page

This year, we’ve refined the Seasonal Container Reservation Program (SCRP) by introducing a tiered reservation system to create a more equitable experience for our once-a-year free program.
Except for the cities that have opted out of the new process (Copperton & Murray), reservations will open in phases:
1-Early-bird - Access for those on last year’s cancellation waitlist who didn’t receive a container
2-Early Access - for individuals who didn’t participate in the program at all last year
3-General Reservations - for those who received a container last year, if availability remains
Reservations cannot be made over the phone due to required forms and disclosures.

How It Works:
We have established a priority system for the SCRP reservation process to ensure fair access to containers.
-
Early Bird Reservation
- Individuals who were on the cancellation waiting list the previous year but did not have the opportunity to obtain a container will receive first priority.
- A designated reservation day will be assigned to this group, allowing them to visit our website and reserve their preferred dates.
-
Early Access Reservation (Those who did not have a container the prior year)
- If any containers remain after the Early Bird reservation period, reservations will open to individuals who did not receive a container the prior year and were not on the cancellation waiting list.
-
General Reservation
- If containers are still available after the Early-Access reservation period, reservations will then be open to individuals who had a container the previous year.
SCRP Information
- If containers are still available after the Early-Access reservation period, reservations will then be open to individuals who had a container the previous year.

Container Delivery Information:
Containers are delivered between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the scheduled day. Due to tight scheduling and routing, we cannot provide a more specific arrival time. However, we aim to ensure residents have up to 24 hours to use the container.
-
Friday Deliveries: If your container is delivered on a Friday, it will be picked up on Monday. (Some Holidays will affect some pickups)
Placement Requirements:
To ensure a successful delivery, your driveway must be:
✅ Clear and accessible
✅ Large enough (approximately 10' x 20') to fit the container
✅ Off the street and public sidewalks
If the driveway is inaccessible, staff will not be able to deliver the container, and your reservation will be forfeited.
What Can & Can’t Go in the Containers?
✅ Permitted Items
-
Bulk Household Waste – Furniture, mattresses, and similar large items
-
Appliances – Refrigerators and freezers must be tagged by a certified appliance professional verifying that freon has been removed
-
Yard Waste – Leaves, branches, and other organic materials
❌ Not Permitted
-
Hazardous Materials – Paint, oil, batteries, propane tanks, 50-gallon drums
-
Commercial, Contractor, or Industrial Waste – The containers are for residential use only
-
Other Toxic or Hazardous Materials
Important Guidelines:
-
Do NOT overload containers or place waste on the ground around them.
-
Per National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA) guidelines, WFWRD employees will not collect waste left on the ground or curb.
-
-
No commercial or construction dumping is allowed.
Alternative Disposal Options:
🔹 Need a disposal solution sooner? Consider a Bulk or Green Waste Trailer Rental - Trailer rental
🔹 Landfill Vouchers Available! Learn more about how to obtain one - Landfill Vouchers
Important Notice:
All reservations are subject to container availability. While we make every effort to accommodate as many participants as possible, securing a container is not guaranteed, regardless of priority level.
WFWRD believes this structured approach offers a fair and equitable way to manage the program, allowing everyone to participate.
